A Bass Harbor Memorial Library Winter Travel Presentation: FISHING VILLAGES OF THE CUBAN COAST with JACK SULLIVAN
Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 6 PM
Jack Sullivan is a photographer from Midcoast Maine who has spent the last seven years working with Island Institute as their staff photographer and videographer. He is also the photo editor for the classic Maine publication, Island Journal. He has grown close to Maine’s working waterfront communities, spending many days on the water documenting fishermen and aquaculturists.
When he can venture away from the Maine coast, he seeks out working waterfront communities abroad—including in the Spring of 2023 when he explored the fishing villages of the Cuban coast. It is here that he found artistic inspiration in the classic architecture, anachronistic technology, vibrant colors and textures, and the expressive nature of the Cuban people.
Please join us for this live presentation FISHING VILLAGES OF THE CUBAN COAST with JACK SULLIVAN—or via Zoom—at the Bass Harbor Memorial Library on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 6 PM.
