Children’s Book Recommendations

From the Tremont School’s Grade 3/4 Reading Group

I recommend the book Come Home Barkley because it is about a dog named Barkley. It is a sad book and makes the reader really interested of what happens next. Hope you enjoy the great book. Author Marilyn D. Anderson, illustrators Beth and Joe Krush.

-Penelope Shepard, Gr. 3

I recommend the book I Survived the Nazi Invasion by Lauren Tarish because it is teaching you about something.

  1. It is really good.
  2. It is a good 3rd grade level.
  3. Dozens of adventures!

I hope you read this book.

-Warrick Black, gr. 3

I recommend the book Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling because it’s all about magic, J.K. Rowling is an AMAZING author, and you can take a week reading it!  Hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

-Perley Ellis, gr. 3

I recommend Dinosaurs Before Dark by Mary Pope Osborne. If you like dinosaurs, then read this book.  And if you like exploring, too, then read this book.

-Victor Robbinson, gr. 3

I recommend the book The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner because there are adventures.  It is an interesting story.  It’s a great book!  I hope you enjoy this great book; hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

-Danny Griggs, gr. 3

I recommend the book Wonder  by R.J. Palacio because it can teach you that people are sometimes very different.  Another reason you should get the book Wonder  is it can show you what bullying feels like.  Another reason you should get the book Wonder  is it can sometimes help you, so you do not hurt people or judge others that do not look the same.  I hope you read this great book.

-Meadow Gilley, gr. 4

I recommend The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell  by Chris Colfer because it has action, and it is about the fairy tale world being real.  Chris Colfer is an amazing writer.  I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!

-Lolie Ellis, gr. 4

I hope you like this book:  I recommend the book Spirit of the West, written by Jahnna N. Malcom, because if you really like horses, you should read this, and because it is about a girl that does not fit in, and last of all, I think you should read this because of a mother horse that has a baby, so cute!!!

-Allibeth Horner, gr. 4

I want you to read the book Nurk.  It is by Ursula Vernon.  I think this is a good book.  One, if you like animals and fantasy, this is the book for you.  Two, it has a big adventure with a shrew.  And last, he is telling his story and he tells us what his thoughts are.  I hope you read this great book.

-Olivia Fonseca, gr. 4
